Thingvellir National Park is a very sacred place among the people of Iceland where you can learn about the nation’s history and culture. In the year 930 the Icelandic parliament was established at Thingvellir, the oldest still existing parliament in the world. At Thingvellir it is also possible to see the continental drift between the North American and Eurasian plates.
We will also visit Gullfoss or the Golden Waterfall, one of the most iconic and spectacular waterfall in Iceland. You don’t have to take our word for it but Gullfoss has often been said to be one of the most beautiful waterfall in the world.
And last but definitely not least is the famous Geysir hot spring located in the Geothermal area in Haukadalur. Even though Geysir himself has been sleeping for quite a long time now his neighbor Strokkur erupts every 5 to 10 minutes and spouts water about 30 meters high in the air.
On this tour we will also stop in the town Hveragerði and take a look at a small exhibition about the earthquake that struck the South coast of Iceland in the year 2008. We will also check out the beautiful waterfall Faxi and try our best to stop on the way to meet the friendly Icelandic horses.
