Description

Landmannalaugar is a natural phenomenon that never ceases to amaze! The colours in the landscape are just incredible, with lava, sand and stone of all colours and kinds! Summer or winter, Landmannalaugar is one of the most beautiful regions in the country. It's rugged landscape, magnificent colours, bubbling hot springs and clear rivers are prevalent throughout, giving the area its own unique and highly captivating character.

We drive through beautiful mountains and visit the Crater Lake; Ljótipollur, which means 'ugly puddles' but is far from it! It's actually one of Landmannalaugar's most spectacular spots, with its turquoise coloured water and sloping coastal hills of red color.

When we arrive to the geothermal pool you can either go for an energising hike or dip into the warm water surrounded by a field of lava. There you get to center yourself bathing in nature itself!

We then head towards the active volcano Hekla, the queen of Icelandic volcanoes. When conditions allow, we drive 900 meters up. The view from there is just spectacular with a 100 km view in all directions and the possibility of seeing 7 glaciers!
