Registration is open for the Reykjavik Marathon 2026, scheduled for Saturday, 22 August 2026 in Iceland's capital.
The event brings together local runners, international visitors and charity teams for one of Reykjavik's biggest summer sporting weekends. The race is also usually held around Reykjavik Culture Night, making it a lively time to visit the city.
Travellers planning to run or watch the event should book accommodation early, check race-day road closures and keep Icelandic weather in mind when packing.
