The two options join the same glacier experience
If you self-drive, arrive at Húsafell Activity Center around 30 minutes before departure. With Pickup guests travel west from Reykjavik to Húsafell; the drive is around 1 hour 40 minutes each way.

At Húsafell, receive your helmet, gloves, buff, warm overalls and overshoes when required. Continue by modified super jeep to the glacier's edge for a clear safety briefing.
