With specialist equipment and expert guidance, the glacier becomes an unforgettable outdoor playground of textures, colours and wide South Coast views. Clear organisation and expert guidance make it easy to relax into the experience and enjoy every memorable moment.

The tour is designed for first-time glacier hikers aged ten and over. Crampons and safety equipment are fitted at the base, and the guide chooses a route that suits the day’s ice and the group’s pace.

Meeting point: Skaftafell Base beside the national park visitor centre. Arrive 20 minutes before departure.

  • Allow approximately 3½ hours, including 1½–2 hours on the ice.
  • The local parking fee is not included and must be paid at the site.
