Description
Leave Akureyri's streets behind for a wonderfully unexpected adventure in Glerárgil, a green river canyon hidden in the middle of town. Five ziplines carry you above rushing water, steep cliffs and Icelandic forest scenery.
The experience blends genuine excitement with an intimate look at one of Akureyri's best-kept natural secrets. Friendly guides fit your equipment, introduce the route and lead the group from line to line along short forest paths.
Five flights through Glerárgil
After a two-to-three-minute walk from the base, the first flight opens the canyon below you. Each of the five lines reveals a different angle on the glacial river, trees and rocky walls, while the changing lengths and viewpoints keep the experience fresh from beginning to end.
The complete circuit normally takes one to two hours, depending on the group. A final ten-minute walk returns you to the base with plenty of time to enjoy more of Akureyri before or after your adventure.
