Into the Glacier & Snowmobiling from Klaki

This Klaki Base Camp experience combines a guided snowmobile ride on Langjökull with a visit inside the man-made ice tunnel. It is a rare way to experience the glacier both across its snowy surface and from within its icy heart.

The exact TourDesk product is scheduled as a two-hour on-location experience. Arrive in good time for check-in and the safety briefing; glacier conditions can occasionally affect the final running order and timing.

No previous snowmobiling experience is required. Your guide provides operating instructions, the safety briefing and the equipment you need before the ride begins.

A valid driving licence is required to operate a snowmobile, and drivers must meet the operator's age requirement. Guests who are not driving can travel as passengers when paired with an eligible driver, subject to the live booking options.

Children can join as passengers when they meet the operator's minimum age requirement of 8 years and travel with an adult. Check the live booking flow for the current child options before booking.

Necessary snowmobile equipment is included: helmet, warm overall, balaclava or buff, mask and gloves. Your guide also provides the safety guidance for both the snowmobile ride and the ice-tunnel visit.

Wear warm base and mid-layers beneath the supplied overall, with waterproof footwear, warm socks and sunglasses for glare on the glacier. Conditions can be cold even in summer, so bring a hat and extra warmth if you feel the cold easily.
