Description

Let an Icelandic horse warm your spirits before geothermal water warms the rest of you. This cosy winter half-day combines a gentle one-hour ride through the South Iceland countryside with the steaming pools of Hveragerði and a light lunch.

The riding experience is welcoming and unhurried, with the crisp winter landscape giving the farm trails a special stillness. Afterwards, trade the saddle for Hveragerði’s comfortably warm outdoor pool, settle into the hot pot or relax in the steam sauna.

On snowy days, the contrast is magical: cool air above the water, steam rising around you and white hills beyond the pool. A light lunch completes an easy winter escape from Reykjavík.

Bring your swimsuit, choose your date and enjoy one of South Iceland’s most charming combinations of horses, hot water and winter atmosphere.
