The route brings together Seljalandsfoss, Skógafoss, Reynisfjara, Dyrhólaey and Sólheimajökull, creating a beautifully varied day of natural wonders and memorable viewpoints. A private format adds a comfortable pace, personal attention and room to enjoy the views without rushing from one highlight to the next.
Sólheimajökull is approached from land; it does not include a glacier hike. At Reynisfjara, the guide’s safety briefing and warning lights must be followed because powerful waves can travel much farther up the beach than expected.

Skógafoss
Broad 60-metre waterfall
Skógafoss thunders 60 metres from the former sea cliffs in a broad wall of water that can fill the valley with mist and rainbows. Experience its scale from below, or climb beside the falls for sweeping views towards the Atlantic coast.
Sólheimajökull
Land-based glacier viewpoint
An outlet glacier of Mýrdalsjökull, Sólheimajökull brings Iceland’s world of ice within dramatic view. Its cracked surface, blue tones and dark bands of volcanic ash form an ever-changing landscape shaped by movement, meltwater and the powerful forces beneath the ice.
Dyrhólaey
Headland and coastal panorama
The high promontory of Dyrhólaey offers one of the South Coast’s grandest panoramas: volcanic beaches, a monumental sea arch, the Reynisdrangar stacks and glacier-capped mountains unfolding across the horizon. During the nesting season, puffins are among the seabirds that bring the cliffs to life.
Reynisfjara
Black sand and basalt coast
Explore the deep-black shoreline of Reynisfjara beneath sculpted basalt cliffs, with Reynisdrangar standing offshore in the crashing Atlantic. This is Icelandic coastal drama at its finest; because sneaker waves can reach far up the beach, follow the warning system and guide guidance at all times.
Vík
Village pause
Vík is a colourful coastal village set between green mountains, black-sand beaches and the Reynisdrangar sea stacks. Its hilltop church and ocean viewpoints create a classic South Iceland scene, while the village offers a welcoming pause on the journey east.
Return to Reykjavík
Westbound finish
Settle back for the westbound drive, with time to revisit the day’s glacier, waterfall and coastal highlights as the road returns to Reykjavík.
