Description

Step into a lively North Iceland kennel and spend an hour with a friendly, unchained Siberian Husky pack, hearing their stories, learning how sled dogs train and work and enjoying plenty of cuddles and photographs.

This is a wonderfully warm-hearted way to meet some of North Iceland’s most charismatic residents. At Vallholt Farm, between Akureyri and Lake Mývatn, the Siberian Huskies socialise in spacious enclosures and greet visitors with the enthusiasm, intelligence and affection that make the breed such remarkable working companions.

An experienced musher introduces individual dogs, explains their personalities and family connections and reveals how a sled team trains, communicates and works together. You also hear how the dogs are cared for throughout the seasons and why running, teamwork and social contact matter so much to their wellbeing.

The easy one-hour format leaves ample time for cuddles, playful encounters and photographs. It is a delightful stop for families, animal lovers and anyone curious about the bond between Huskies and mushers—without needing to join a sled ride.

Choose a departure and make this joyful Husky encounter part of your North Iceland journey.
