Description
This is a strong first glacier experience for travellers who want more than phone snapshots. The route blends roughly two hours of total hiking with time to learn about the ice, explore changing glacier formations and be photographed naturally in the landscape.
Meet at Skaftafell Airport Terminal and arrive 15 minutes before departure. After check-in, the guide provides a helmet, harness and crampons before driving towards Falljökull in a Super Jeep. A rocky but mostly flat approach leads from the glacial tundra to the edge of the ice.
On Falljökull, the guide teaches secure crampon technique and selects a route suited to the day's conditions. Expect textured ice, crevasses, blue tones and a gradual uphill section of around 20 minutes. Clear weather can open views towards Hvannadalshnúkur, while the exact route and visible features always change with the glacier.
Your guide photographs portraits, action moments and the surrounding landscape during the experience. Two edited photographs per participant are included and are normally delivered through Google Drive in around 14 days; editing time can vary.

Travel towards Falljökull, receive your glacier equipment and begin the mostly flat but rocky approach across the glacial landscape.
Guided Falljökull hike and photography
Learn to walk securely in crampons and follow the guide across a route chosen for current ice and weather. Pause among ridges, blue-ice textures and mountain views while the guide captures portraits, action and landscape photographs.
Return and edited photo delivery
Walk back from the glacier and return to Skaftafell Airport. The two included edited images per participant are sent later through Google Drive, normally in around 14 days.
