Experience the total solar eclipse of 12 August 2026 from the Snæfellsnes Peninsula, where the path of totality gives more than two minutes of darkness. This 12-hour small-group tour combines the rare sky event with a flexible route through West Iceland and a reserved viewing location at Lýsuhóll, a private horse farm.
The planned sightseeing includes Kirkjufell, Ingjaldshólskirkja, Arnarstapi and Búðakirkja, but eclipse-day weather, traffic and access will determine the final route. The priority is to reach Lýsuhóll between 15:30 and 15:45, where guests receive a welcome drink and special eclipse glasses before the partial phase begins at 16:44. Totality is expected from 17:45 to 17:47, and daylight returns at 18:46.
After the eclipse, a home-cooked dinner made with Icelandic products is served at the farm. Visibility cannot be guaranteed: the tour operates if conditions are safe, even when cloud affects the eclipse, and cloud cover does not qualify for a refund.
