Seljalandsfoss
Walk behind a waterfall when conditions allow
Begin beneath the old sea cliffs at Seljalandsfoss, where a 60-metre curtain of meltwater falls in front of a path that can lead behind the cascade. The walking route depends on weather and ground conditions.
Gljúfrabúi
The hidden waterfall
Step through a narrow opening in the cliffs to find Gljúfrabúi, a waterfall enclosed by mossy rock walls. The approach can be wet and uneven, which makes sturdy footwear especially useful.
Skógafoss
A powerful South Coast classic
Feel the scale of Skógafoss from the lower viewpoint as the waterfall drops in a broad, roaring curtain. An optional staircase beside the falls rewards those who want a higher view across the coast.
