Description

Discover South Iceland from the saddle of the friendly Icelandic horse, riding through open countryside where volcanic earth, mountain views and fresh coastal air set the scene.

The smooth tölt, compact strength and calm character of this remarkable breed make the experience as distinctly Icelandic as the landscape itself. Clear organisation and expert guidance make it easy to relax into the experience and enjoy every memorable moment.

The ride reaches Reykjadalur, where steam, hot springs and green slopes frame a bathing stop in a warm river. Djúpagilsfoss and wide views over Ölfus add variety on the return to Vellir. The group tölts when conditions and ability permit, but does not gallop.
