Description
A relaxed one-hour Icelandic horse ride from Stóri-Kambur, following the landscape towards Hraunlandarif beach beneath the Snæfellsjökull region.
Icelandic horses and open countryside add warmth and local character to the day, creating a memorable connection between the peninsula’s dramatic nature and the people who live with it.
Every part of the route adds a different mood, from quiet fjords and mossy lava to dramatic cliffs and celebrated landmarks.
This is an on-location riding experience, not a Reykjavik day tour. Guests meet at Stóri-Kambur on the southern Snæfellsnes coast, where the guide matches riders with Icelandic horses and supplies the necessary riding equipment.
The riding time is approximately one hour, while the full visit is closer to ninety minutes once arrival, fitting and briefing are included. The route heads through the farm landscape towards the golden shoreline at Hraunlandarif, below the Snæfellsjökull region.
The usual pace is slow and easy, so previous riding experience is not required. The minimum age is seven, and the tour may be cancelled at short notice if conditions are not suitable for horses and riders.
