Description
Landmannalaugar is one of the great rewards of summer in South Iceland. The road travels towards Hekla and into a landscape of lava, rivers and colourful mountains that feels wonderfully far removed from the lowlands.
A guided 1–2 hour walk around Laugahraun and Grænagil brings obsidian lava, green gullies and mineral-rich slopes into close view without demanding a full-day mountain trek.
After the walk, the natural pool offers time to relax before the journey returns through the spectacular highland scenery.
